Beatrix Gates' poetry collections include Dos and In the Open, a Lambda Poetry finalist. A MacDowell fellow, she received a Huntington Library Jutzi Non-traditional Scholar fellowship to research astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt in 2019. Recent poems and translations appear in Bateau; an essay contribution in A Radiance of Attention: Jane Cooper in the University of Michigan Under Discussion series; and hybrid work in MAP out of Glasgow. Gates founded Granite Press (1975-89) and runs SIDELINES/ In Translation Series for The Cannery.
